Our Story

Kings & Lotus was built through consistency, discipline, and respect for the ritual.

For more than two decades, founder Derrick Young developed daily grooming and skincare habits shaped by trial, experience, and high personal standards. Over time, those routines became more than maintenance. They became a belief: real confidence starts long before you step into a room. It begins with how you care for yourself when no one is watching.

The name Kings & Lotus is a tribute to Derrick’s roots in St. Louis, Missouri, inspired by the intersection of Kingshighway and Lotus. That place represents foundation. Family. Community. Values. From an early age, he was taught that presenting yourself well wasn’t about vanity. It was about respect. For yourself and for others.

Military service reinforced those lessons. Grooming wasn’t optional. It was structure. Discipline. Accountability. Healthy skin and consistent care were part of showing up ready every day. That same mindset became the blueprint for this brand.
